Suburban Hotels

Hotels outside of the downtown are generally cheaper and can still have good access to downtown by car or even public transit. Some are located within walking distance of a Skytrain Rapid Transit station, giving easy access to downtown. They are especially good value if you have a car. Click the links below the Map, to go to the Online booking section for the various suburbs listed. Descriptions of these areas can be found in my Neighbourhoods section, but I have given a basic description below as well. The Map (courtesy of Microsoft Expedia) below will give you some idea where some of these suburbs are located with respect to Downtown Vancouver.

BURNABY : Suburb just to the east of downtown. Skytrain serves the Metrotown area.

NEW WESTMINSTER : Suburb even further east of downtown. Good Skytrain access.

SURREY : Suburb on the east side of the Fraser River. Skytrain access to northern part, Southern part is close to US Border. Bus service available.

COQUITLAM : Northeast Suburb. Commuter train access to downtown.

WHITE ROCK : Pleasant seaside town near US Border. The only hotel listed is very nice.

NORTH VANCOUVER : Located on the north side of the harbour across from downtown. Bus & Seabus access to downtown.

RICHMOND : This is the suburb where the Airport is located.

LANGLEY : Far eastern Suburb. Bus service to downtown, but its best to have a car.
