Concerts:

Vancouver is a regular stop on most Concert Tours and chances are there will be several of them occurring during your visit. The Radio Station Links below are your best bet to find out about Rock and Country Concerts. There are also links for Jazz, Classical and Folk. The summer brings several music festivals, notably the DuMaurier Jazz Festival, the Vancouver Folk Festival, & Festival Vancouver. The Merrit Mountain Music Festival in Merrit, a 3 hour drive away, is one of the largest Country Music Festivals in North America. You can book tickets for upcoming concerts on line by clicking on the "Vancouver Attractions" link in the table below. Best venue for Rock/Country Concerts is General Motors Place. Avoid BC Place unless its someone with a massive sound system such as the Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd. They tried the 3 Tenors in there and it was a washout. I saw Phil Collins there, and it was the same thing. Best Venue for Classical/Jazz is the Orpheum Theatre. The Queen Elizabeth is OK, but the acoustics do not compare to the Orpheum. There are also several Jazz Clubs located throughout the city.
