Vancouver's NHL Ice Hockey Team is called the Vancouver Canucks. They play at GM Place Stadium. The season runs from October to May or June.

Vancouver's CFL Football team is called the BC Lions. They play at BC Place Stadium. The season runs from May to November. CFL Football is similar to NFL Football in the US. The field size is larger and there are some rule differences. The term Football is a bit of a misnomer, since the sport has less to do with the feet than it does with running with the ball. Real Football is called Soccer in North America and is not the popular pastime it is in most of the rest of the world.

Vancouver's NBA Basketball has now moved to Memphis, due to lack of interest.

There are also the Vancouver WhiteCaps Soccer (called Football in the rest of world) team. They play at Swanguard Stadium in Burnaby, located near Kingsway and Boundary.

Vancouver has 2 domed Sport Stadiums, BC Place and GM Place. BC Place is designed for Football and Baseball, GM Place is designed for Ice Hockey and Basketball. They are next to one another and located near Stadium Skytrain Station.

The PGA Golf tour (the Vancouver Open) hits Vancouver annually in late August. Call 604-899-4641 for details.

Vancouver has won the bid for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Info can be found at 2010 Olympic Bid.
